Shoestring Yam Fries (Air Fried)

These are my favourite among all the goodies! Easy to make and even easier to eat! Drizzle with truffle oil and sprinkle with a bit of truffle salt for a more robust taste. Otherwise, just sprinkle with salt for original flavor

To make these, slice the Yam into very thin slice (about 3 mm in thickness – try your best). Then cut it into long thin strips of about 3 mm in width

You can flavour it with truffle oil and salt, chilli powder or just sprinkle some salt for its most original taste

Shoestring Yam Fries (Air Fried)

Serves: 1 small tub
 
Ingredients
  • 250g Yam - cut into very thin strips
  • 2 tablespoon oil
Truffle Flavouring (Optional)
  • 1 tablespoon truffle oil
  • ½ teaspoon truffle salt or salt
  • *Use salt only if prefer original flavor
Instructions
  1. Preheat the air fryer at 180 degree Celsius 5 minutes before frying
  2. Cut the Yam into very thin Strips
  3. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of oil over the Yam and ensure all the Yam strips are coated with oil
  4. Air fry for 8 mins or until golden brown at 180 degree Celsius (Pull out the basket and shake halfway during frying (or use a tong to "stir") so that any overlay bits will be air fried too)
  5. Divide the Yam into several batches for frying (Do not overcrowd the frying basket)
  6. When done, drizzle 1 tablespoon of truffle oil and sprinkle truffle salt over the Yam fries
  7. Toss until the fries are well coated with salt and truffle oil
  8. Cool and store in airtight container
